Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly organised and driven Projects Planner to coordinate the planning and scheduling of various manufacturing projects from order intake through to final delivery. This key role is responsible for reviewing multiple customer and internal projects, ensuring they are effectively planned, resourced, and executed within deadlines while balancing factory capacity and materials availability. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, procurement, production, and logistics teams to keep projects aligned with business goals and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:



Project Review & Planning



Review and evaluate various customer and internal projects for feasibility, scope, and delivery timelines. Translate project requirements into actionable manufacturing plans, ensuring clear alignment with customer specifications. Create and manage comprehensive project timelines across multiple departments. Coordinate and schedule technical checks to confirm engineering requirements and compliance are met. Oversee the preparation and timely submission of technical documentation, certifications, and other deliverables to customers. Provide regular project updates and performance reports to internal stakeholders and customers as required.

Production Scheduling



Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with customer orders and internal deadlines. Collaborate with production managers and team leaders to balance workloads and optimise machine and labour utilisation. Monitor production progress, identifying risks or delays, and adjust schedules accordingly. Coordinate with procurement to ensure raw materials and components are available in line with project timelines.

Cross-Functional Coordination



Work closely with engineering, quality, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure project milestones are achieved. Use ERP/MRP systems to manage job orders, lead times, capacity data, and progress tracking. Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts, resourcing issues, and workflow inefficiencies. Arrange and liaise with internal and external logistics/shipping providers to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of finished goods.

Continuous Improvement



Identify and address bottlenecks, delays, and inefficiencies in the project planning and production scheduling process. Contribute to the enhancement of planning tools, dashboards, and reporting structures. Support lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the operations function.

General



Perform any other related tasks or responsibilities necessary to support the successful execution of projects and smooth operation of the planning function.

Qualifications and Experience:



Minimum 3 years' experience in a project planning or production scheduling role within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience reviewing and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials planning, and capacity/resource management. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.

Desirable:



Experience in an engineered-to-order (ETO) or make-to-order (MTO) manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards or other quality management systems. APICS or equivalent certification in production and inventory management (CPIM, CSCP).
