Job Description

On behalf of DCMS - Independent Football Regulator (IFR), we are looking for a Proof Reader & Editor (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract (with possible extension). This is a remote working role (with ad hoc travel to London).

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a proof reader/ copy editor to work on a project basis for the Shadow Football Regulator within DCMS.



As a Proof Reader & Editor, your main responsibilities will be:



To ensure that complex policy consultations adhere to the in-house style guide in terms of accessibility, readability and tone. To ensure that any illustrations or diagrams are correctly captioned and referred to in the text To proof read the consultations to ensure they are grammatically correct, with accurate spelling and a consistent use of technical language where necessary To support the in-house team on drafting a copy for an external consultation site and potentially working with third party supplier. To support the in-house team on ad hoc drafting for the IFR's website We anticipate the role will be required to do two rounds of proofing/ editing to the consultation documents in that time period. The role will be required to liaise with a number of in-house teams, including policy, DDAT and comms.

Essential:

Ability to translate complex information into plain, easy to understand language. Ability to work to tight deadlines and plan and prioritise competing demands to ensure project milestones are met.
