What You'll Be Doing
Conducting pre- & post-production testing of ammunition & pyrotechnics.
Executing the safe disposal of energetic & non-energetic materials.
Leading technical demonstrations & site visits for high-profile clients & internal stakeholders.
Acting as a key Section 5 Appointed Person for the lawful movement and handling of weapons and ammunition.
Generating comprehensive test records, analysis reports, and technical guidance.
Collaboratively supporting best practice across departments to contribute to range safety protocols.
Mentoring & supervising the assistant proofing officer.
Must-Haves
Clean driving licence and ability to commute to our Lincoln site.
Physically and medically capable of handling large-calibre weapons and wearing full PPE/RPE.
Sound knowledge of firearms safety, hazardous materials, and Class 1 Dangerous Goods.
Good computer literacy and experience handling and processing technical data.
Detail-focused, process-driven, and deadline-focused.
Familiarity with ISO-regulated manufacturing environments.
Highly Desirable
Firearms or armourer background
Explosives or Ordnance Qualification (e.g., Level 4 OME)
Qualified in Dangerous Goods (ADR Class 1), First Aid, or Range Safety.
Ex-military specialists from EOD, Royal Engineers, or RLC (Sgt level and above).

Working Environment & Conditions
This role involves live testing of ammunition and pyrotechnics, root-cause investigations, and use of PPE and RPE. The ability to work safely in high-consequence environments is essential. Full training and support provided.
