Propeller Technician

Responsible To

The post holder is directly responsible to and managed by the Production Manager. However, the post holder may also receive instructions from the Maintenance Manager.

Overall Purpose of the Job

The primary purpose of this role to disassemble and clean propellers ready for inspection. To progressively sign the associated paperwork and follow approved technical data.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To carry out aircraft propeller or other associated components disassembly and cleaning, using standard and specialist hand tools and measuring equipment.

To carry out Plastic Media (PMB) and glass blasting

To process aluminium blade grinding

The ability to work effectively within a small team with minimum supervision

The ability to be responsible for their own work

To have a strong work ethic and pride in their work

To carry out any other reasonable task required by management

To have an aspiration to work and progress within the Aviation Industry. Through experience this job will give the opportunity to evolve and grow within the business in terms of technical competence.

Person specification

The Propeller Technician should ideally have previous experience of working within an engineering background utilising general hand-tools. Aviation industry experience is not essential. Full on the job training will be provided.

Qualifications

Whilst no formal qualifications are required experience working with hand tools in the automotive or similar industry would be advantageous. If you have a hobby that involves mechanical disassembly that would also be seen as a desirable and transferable skill.
