Property Condition Surveyor

Are you experienced in building construction and ready to make a real difference in people's homes?




We are looking for someone with a practical understanding of how homes are built, maintained, and improved. This role is ideal for someone with an HNC in Building Construction (or equivalent) who's confident inspecting domestic properties, identifying structural issues, and helping us tackle damp, mould, and disrepair. You'll be part of a supportive team working across our housing stock to ensure homes are safe, sound, and well looked after.


Your main focus will be on investigating and diagnosing damp, mould, and disrepair issues, producing accurate reports, and specifying remedial works. You'll also support the wider team with stock and estate condition surveys when needed, helping us maintain a high standard across all our homes. You'll work closely with residents, contractors, and colleagues, keeping everyone informed and ensuring works are completed to a high standard.


We understand that not every candidate will have all the specialist knowledge from day one -- so training and support will be provided to develop your skills in:

Diagnosing the root causes of damp and mould Carrying out EPC assessments Using asset management systems and reporting tools Understanding disrepair legislation and housing standards

A willingness to learn and adapt is essential, as we'll tailor development support based on your experience and needs.


Key Responsibilities

Conduct property surveys and produce accurate reports Maintain and update the asset management database Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors Provide technical advice and support across the organisation Promote a culture of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction

What We're Looking For

Essential:



A Level or equivalent Level 3 qualification HNC in Building Construction or equivalent Experience in building surveys and property diagnostics Strong IT and data entry skills Excellent communication, organisation, and customer service skills Ability to travel across Cornwall

Desirable:



RICS membership or Diploma in Surveying Practice HHSRS, P402 Asbestos, or Domestic Energy Assessor qualifications Experience in social housing or asset management
