Role Introduction
Triton Risk Management is proud to be a strategic partner to our client in the oil and gas sector. We are entrusted to deliver a comprehensive and professional protective services strategy tailored to the unique requirements of their critical energy infrastructure site.
Our partnership is built on a foundation of trust, compliance and operational excellence. We provide a dedicated team of highly trained Protection Officers to ensure the continuous safety and security of the facility. Through proactive threat mitigation, rigorous access control and close coordination with site stakeholders, we safeguard the client's operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, resilience, and regulatory adherence.
We are currently seeking applicants for our Protection Officer roles. These are critical posts responsible for ensuring the safety, security and operational continuity at the site through proactive monitoring, presence, and robust incident response.
Key Responsibilities
This list represents the type of activities that post holders will be asked to undertake and the ways in which they will be expected to operate.
Service Delivery
Maintain a visible and professional presence to detect and deter unauthorised access, theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
Execute advanced physical intervention techniques to safely manage, restrain, or remove high-risk individuals from site, ensuring compliance with legal standards and minimising risk to all parties involved.
Serve as the primary on-site authority for pre-hospital emergency medical care, demonstrating advanced decision-making and intervention skills. This includes operating effectively in high-demanding environments such as working at height and within confined spaces, in accordance with relevant safety and medical protocols.
Oversee and enforce advanced access control protocols, to ensure only authorised personnel and vehicles gain entry to critical areas of the site. Conduct audits to identify and mitigate access vulnerabilities.
Carry out strategic patrol operations across internal and external zones, utilising risk-based assessment techniques to proactively identify, report, and respond to safety and security threats.
Deliver a high-level first response capability to complex incidents, including emergencies, alarms, and suspicious activities. Ensure all incidents are accurately documented, analysed, and escalated in accordance with operational and legal frameworks.
Manage and optimise surveillance infrastructure, including CCTV, access control systems, and integrated threat detection technologies. Ensure all monitoring activities comply with Company protocols and current data protection legislation.
Act as a key liaison with emergency services and strategic stakeholders, facilitating coordinated multi-agency responses to incidents in line with JESIP principles.
Assist with implementing lockdown procedures, evacuation drills, and site-specific emergency protocols.
Produce and manage comprehensive operational documentation, including detailed incident reports, intelligence logs, and structured handover briefings. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety, legal, and contractual requirements.
Represent Triton Risk Management and the client professionally, ensuring customer service standards are upheld at all times.
Training and exercises
Assist in planning and execution of realistic security drills and exercises across all threat scenarios.
Support the development of training materials, response protocols and evaluation tools.
Engage with post-exercise reviews and implement continuous improvements.
Teamwork
Help and support your immediate team as well as the client's personnel, their contractors and suppliers.
Support other team members to carry out their tasks when asked to do so.
Identify and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate lead officer at Triton Risk and the client.
Communication / Personal
Show a commitment to the values and behaviours of Triton Risk Management and those of the client.
Use digital devices and apps such as email, electronic access control and digital identification processes to communicate with and operate effectively alongside your colleagues and all other stakeholders associated with your role.

Candidate Requirements
Please note that while accreditations and certifications are desirable, we are focused on identifying candidates who have the demonstrable experience and capabilities to operate in a highly demanding environment. All necessary training, including access to certifications and relevant qualifications, will be provided where required.

FREC3/FREC4 certification.
Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Close Protection).
Experience with protestor management or site encroachment scenarios.
Experience of working with law enforcement, emergency services and/or military services.
Knowledge of legal requirements related to use of force, trespass laws, and data protection.
Understanding of the Oil & Gas industry.
Candidates should note that progression beyond the assessment stage is subject to the successful completion of a screening process and medical examination including a drug and alcohol test. This includes verification of a 10-year employment history, financial probity checks, and a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Contracts will only be issued upon satisfactory completion of these requirements.
Candidates will also be required to complete a comprehensive role based physical fitness assessment to ensure they are capable of performing all essential duties, including confined space rescue, working at height, and other physically demanding tasks. Successful candidates must undergo a pre-commencement medical assessment and participate in annual medical evaluations alongside periodic drug and alcohol tests as an ongoing requirement of the role.
