Role Introduction
Triton Risk Management is proud to be a strategic partner to our client in the oil and gas sector. We are entrusted to deliver a comprehensive and professional protective services strategy tailored to the unique requirements of their critical energy infrastructure site.
Our partnership is built on a foundation of trust, compliance and operational excellence. We provide a dedicated team of highly trained Protection Team Leaders to ensure the continuous safety and security of the facility. Through proactive threat mitigation, rigorous access control and close coordination with site stakeholders, we safeguard the clients' operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, resilience, and regulatory adherence.
We are currently seeking applicants for our Protection Team Leader roles. These are critical posts responsible for ensuring the safety, security and operational continuity at the site through proactive monitoring, presence, and robust incident response.
Key Responsibilities
This list represents the type of activities that post holders will be asked to undertake and the ways in which they will be expected to operate.
Leadership and service delivery
Lead, mentor and manage a team of Protection Officers to deliver consistent, high-quality protective services.
Oversee and enforce advanced access control protocols, to ensure only authorised personnel and vehicles gain entry to critical areas of the site.
Oversee permitter integrity and response operations across the site, conducting audits to identify and mitigate access vulnerabilities.
Lead and execute advanced physical intervention techniques to safely manage, restrain, or remove high-risk individuals from site, ensuring compliance with legal standards and minimising risk to all parties involved.
Coordinate and serve as the primary on-site authority for pre-hospital emergency medical care, demonstrating advanced decision-making and intervention skills. This includes operating effectively in high-demanding environments such as working at height, and within confined spaces, in accordance with relevant safety and medical protocols.
Lead, carry out, and oversee all strategic patrol operations across internal and external zones, utilising risk-based assessment techniques to proactively identify, report, and respond to safety and security threats.
Deliver a high-level first response capability to complex and high-level incidents, including emergencies, alarms, and suspicious activities.
Act as the primary escalation point, conducting dynamic risk assessments, coordinating incident response efforts, and liaising effectively with client representatives, emergency services, and the Triton Risk leadership team.
Ensure all incidents are thoroughly documented, analysed, and escalated in accordance with operational protocols and legal requirements.
Lead the operational deployment of Protection Officers, ensuring all personnel are thoroughly briefed, strategically positioned, and supported throughout their shifts to maintain optimal site security and readiness.
Conduct rigorous quality assurance and compliance audits, including patrol performance reviews, uniform and equipment inspections, and adherence to operational procedures and regulatory standards.
Oversee and deliver structured incident debriefs and shift handovers, ensuring the accurate capture, analysis, and timely submission of operational reports, intelligence logs, and performance data to senior personnel.
Provide proactive coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to Protection Officers, creating a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement across the team.
Take ownership of shift rota management, ensuring optimal staffing levels are maintained at all times.
Proactively coordinate personnel deployment to guarantee full operational coverage and respond dynamically to shortfalls or changes in resource availability.
Monitor operational risks and advise on proactive mitigation measures.
Enforce company and site-specific policies, ensuring adherence to health and safety and relevant legislation.
Contribute to training and induction of new team members.
Training and Exercises
Plan and execute realistic security drills and exercises across all threat scenarios.
Develop training materials, response protocols and evacuation tools.
Coordinate with internal teams and external emergency services.
Lead post exercise reviews and implement continuous improvements.
Communication / Personal
Show a commitment to the values and behaviours of Triton Risk Management and those of the client.
Use digital devices and apps such as email, electronic access control and digital identification processes to communicate with and operate effectively alongside your colleagues and all other stakeholders associated with your role.

Candidate Requirements
Please note that while accreditations and certifications are desirable, we are focused on identifying candidates who have the demonstrable experience and capabilities to operate in a high-risk environment. All necessary training, including access to certifications and relevant qualifications, will be provided where required.
Essential
High standard of physical fitness enabling you to satisfactorily complete a role based fitness test focusing on speed, endurance, strength and flexibility.
Excellent team leader.
Proficient and competent IT skills including use of Word, Excel and electronic access management.
Minimum five years of experience in a security, site protection or protective services role.
Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory or team leader role (not necessarily in the risk management industry).
Strong problem solving, communication and decision-making skills.
Experience in incident response, team co-ordination and de-escalation.
Demonstrable ability to manage conflict and operate effectively under pressure.
Competent in producing detailed reports and incident documentation.
Strong knowledge of security legislation, risk management and duty of care responsibilities.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
FREC3/FREC4 certification.
Experience in protestor management, high-demanding environments or critical infrastructure protection.
Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Close Protection).
Working knowledge of CCTV, access control and radio communication protocols.
Training or certification in leadership or conflict management.
Understanding of the Liquefied Natural Gas industry.
Candidates should note that progression beyond the assessment stage is subject to the successful completion of a screening process and medical examination. This includes verification of a 10-year employment history, financial probity checks, and a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Contracts will only be issued upon satisfactory completion of these requirements.
Candidates will also be required to complete a comprehensive role based physical fitness assessment to ensure they are capable of performing all essential duties, including confined space rescue, working at height, and other physically demanding tasks. Successful candidates must undergo a pre-commencement medical assessment and participate in annual medical evaluations alongside periodic drug and alcohol tests as an ongoing requirement of the role.
