Job Description

This post offers a unique opportunity for an individual with data manager skills to play a key role in the proton clinical outcomes unit at UCLH. Responsibilities include creation and maintenance of files, trackers and logs for PBT/PCOU datasets and projects. They will be responsible for data collection and information provision processes including abstraction work, data inputting, database maintenance and quality checks and amendments and other similar tasks as required. The post holder will provide information on PCOU projects for the oncology team as and when required and will be expected to develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical studies, the therapies and disease site.

The post holder will be integral to supporting the activities of the PCOU and working collaboratively with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, NHSE and linking with the national central PBT registry.



The main role of this data manager post is to support the PCOU team to ensure the completeness, accuracy and consistency of the data so that it meets the standards of quality expected for reporting to national and local commissioners and for use in national and international audit and research.



Responsibilities include creation and maintenance of files/logs/trackers for clinical studies/ projects/ trials, collection of data and completion of quality checks and the creation and maintenance of a database of study activity. The post holder will provide information on PCOU projects including clinical research studies and service improvement initiatives for the team as and when required and will be expected to develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of these projects, the therapies and disease site.
