Contract Type: Permanent, Full time



Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Role Information:





SGS Oasis provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for young people aged 16-25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Communication and Interaction and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.




We offer therapeutic and flexible learning to enable young people to re-engage with education, rebuild confidence, and make meaningful academic and personal progress.




We are currently seeking an experienced SEND practitioner with line-management experience to oversee the provision on a daily basis and to lead a team of Specialist Learning Mentors.




Key Tasks and Responsibilities

To co-ordinate the daily provision of specialist education in Oasis. To ensure an effective therapeutic environment to meet the needs of highly complex learners and respond effectively to any incidences that may occur. To line manage a team of Learning Mentors. To chair and facilitate meetings in line with departmental, college wide and local authority processes including Individual Learning Plan reviews, EHCP annual reviews, daily briefings, team meetings, meetings with external agencies, and multi-disciplinary meetings.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, and they will have a therapeutic and trauma informed approach. Experience of working with young people aged 16-25 with additional needs and/or EHCPs. This experience would preferably be within therapeutic education, but other experiences related to health, social care or in the community is also relevant. Relevant SEND Qualification at L4 and above or be willing to achieve.
