About the role:

As the Private Rented Sector Access & Resettlement Officer, you will be responsible for helping in the development of new housing pathways for our services, increasing the volume of properties being made available to our services clients, as well as tenancy sustainment and signposting clients to ongoing support.

In your role, you will also undertake assessments as to the suitability of our clients to access private rented accommodation and a range of activities to help them resettle into PRS, which will include practical elements of independent living such as; paying rent, setting up and managing utilities, liaising with landlords and other agencies. Additionally, you will support relevant Service/Project Managers, in providing guidance and advice to Caseworkers, Support Workers and/or Project Workers on relevant housing and welfare legislation.

About you:

To succeed, we are seeking someone who has:

  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships with landlords and lettings agents in the private rented sector and/or other types of housing provider.
  • An up to date working knowledge of welfare benefits and reform and its relation housing as well as a good understanding of tenure law. An ability to advise others as and when needed.
  • Ability to work in close partnership with external agencies and effectively liaise with a range of service providers or agencies in order to establish or improve services for clients /people.
  • Ability to be self-motivating and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need.
