Job Description

Act Fast is a well-established provider in North Lincolnshire, established in 2007 and has grown organically as the need for a high standard of provision has emerged and developed. Having achieved Independent School status in 2018, after having seen the changing landscape of provision.

Act Fast is determined to position itself at the absolute pinnacle of provision in the region. As such, becoming a registered Independent School and opening our doors to Ofsted inspection demonstrates our long-term commitment to that vision, and underlines our belief that alternative provision should be delivered to as high a standard as mainstream education in absolutely every regard.

Our Bespoke curriculum has been approved by Ofsted and is such fit for purpose. The premise of Act Fast's provision is that we are promoting the value of education to previously disaffected young people.

Act Fast NL specialises in working with pupils aged between 11 and 25 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP's), statements of Special Educational Needs or, in some specific cases, those within the assessment process. Referrals are made through Schools and Local Authorities (LA's). Each referral case is viewed and considered independently. Pupils are admitted at any time during the school year and will follow a broad and ambitious curriculum, timetabled to suit their development needs.

Act Fast is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; all applicants must go through a thorough vetting procedure, including enhanced DBS and reference checks. Only applicants who have been shortlisted will be asked for a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable for the position. A Social Media Check will also be conducted.

The post holder will be expected to undertake duties in line with the professional standards for qualified teachers. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure for this role, which Act Fast will pay for. However, it will remain the responsibility of the employee to register with the DBS Update Service.
