Job Description

The Public Protection Unit have two full-time vacancies for a Police Staff Investigations Officer's in our Adult Investigation Team based at Willenhall Police Station (Coventry)


Since the implementation of Operation Model, Adult Abuse Investigators now deal exclusively with higher risk and intricate domestic abuse cases. You will work within one of the three teams, conducting secondary investigation from handover to their conclusion.


The role requires well organised and professional people with an ability to manage risk, develop and complete investigation plans, conduct quality suspect interviews and build rapport with vulnerable victims. You will be supported by a dedicated safeguarding team, digital media investigation team, and post charge file build team as part of a large department with many skilled and experienced individuals to gain knowledge from.

Essential Criteria:

An ability to plan investigations A focus on the needs of vulnerable victims An understanding of the secondary investigation process Effective communication skills using a variety of methods to ensure clear, accurate and appropriate sharing of information Accurate, high standard report writing skills within given time limits IT skills requiring access of Force and national systems

- There is scope for candidates to be taught these skills once in the role, so if you have a basic knowledge in any of these areas but willingness to learn, we would still invite your application.

Medical:

Successful applicants may be required to complete a medical assessment which may include a drug and hearing test.

Location

: This role is based at Willenhall Police Station (Coventry).

Hours:

The shift pattern is 3 early shifts (0700 - 1500 hrs), 3 late shifts (1400 - 2300 hrs) and 3 rest days.
