Midland Bluebird is looking for a skilled and motivated

PSV Glass Fitter

to join our team This is a mobile role that will see you working across our full network, supporting depots and vehicles throughout. you will be responsible for the professional installation, removal, and replacement of glass components on our fleet of public service vehicles, including buses and coaches. From fitting windscreens and side windows to ensuring safety and compliance standards are met, your work will play a crucial role in keeping our vehicles road-ready and our passengers safe.

So, what you will be doing:



Carry out the removal, fitting, and replacement of windscreens, side windows, and other glazing components on a range of Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), including buses and coaches. Measure, cut, and install glass with precision, ensuring all work complies with manufacturer specifications, industry regulations, and safety standards. Provide both depot-based and mobile glazing support across the McGill's network, attending roadside callouts or assisting at other locations when required. Inspect and assess vehicle glazing damage, identifying potential structural issues and recommending appropriate repair solutions. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment, following all health and safety procedures and using appropriate PPE at all times. Communicate clearly and professionally with depot teams, drivers, and engineering colleagues to ensure minimal vehicle downtime and optimal service levels. Accurately complete service documentation, including job sheets, damage reports, and photographic records for each repair or replacement task.

What do we need from you:



Minimum 2 years' proven experience

as a PSV or automotive glass fitter, ideally within a bus or commercial vehicle environment.

In-depth knowledge

of PSV glazing systems, repair techniques, and glass fitting procedures.

Skilled in using

a wide range of hand tools and power equipment safely and effectively
