Are you an experienced in working in mental health and keen to develop your career further?



We are currently recruiting for a Psychiatric Liaison Practitioner to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your liaison and suicide preventions skills with an experienced team offering 24/7 psychiatric assessments to the Horton and John Radcliffe emergency departments.



This role offers the opportunity to hone existing skills and develop new skills in preparation for a future band 7 post working more independently within the service.



EDPS offer specialist assessments and discharge planning to patients aged 13 years and upwards attending with a broad spectrum of mental health presentations as well as self-harm.

The Responsibilities of the role include:

Thorough psychiatric assessment and recommendations for treatment and support.



Collaborative care-planning with service users, their families and carers.



Guidance and support to physical health colleagues on the management of distressed and challenging behaviours.



Timely psychiatric assessments of patients to identify appropriate, evidence based, mental health treatment and support.



Support and guidance to our OUH colleagues around suitable management of distress behaviour and agitation.
