This full-time, paid role offers hands-on experience in education and inclusion -- ideal for someone considering a future in teaching, youth work, social care, psychology, or therapeutic support.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with students aged 11-16 who may be struggling to engage with school due to emotional, behavioural, or mental health challenges. Many of these students need consistent adult support, positive role modelling, and structure to help them succeed.
Your role will include:
Supporting pupils in lessons, break times, and during targeted interventions
Helping students regulate their emotions and develop positive behaviours
Working 1:1 and in small groups to re-engage learners and build confidence
Liaising with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress
Supporting restorative practice, behaviour plans, and crisis management when needed
This role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Hold (or are on track for) a degree in any subject - Psychology, Education, Criminology, or Social Sciences particularly welcome
Are emotionally intelligent, resilient, and genuinely care about helping young people
Can maintain strong boundaries and remain calm in the face of challenging behaviour
Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
Are interested in making a real difference in pupils' lives and school experiences
