We're looking for a
Psychometrist
to help guide participants through the clinical trial processes and support our growing team
based at our Aberdeen site
.
As our new
Psychometrist
, you will play a pivotal role by ensuring the accurate and standardised administration of cognitive, personality, and neuropsychological tests. These tests might assess memory, attention, executive function, mood, or other cognitive and emotional domains relevant to the trial's focus. Your work will support the psychometric integrity of the trial. Supervised by our Psychologist, you will work alongside our multi-disciplinary team that includes doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Some of what you'll be doing:
Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments of participants using standard psychological tests, including standardised, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with participants and study partners
Undertake specific assessments of participants in line with the protocol and as delegated by the investigator and monitor condition throughout their participation
Identify, screen, and recruit study participants into research studies to ensure effective achievement of study aims
Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant information is documented in source data worksheets and participant medical records if applicable
Ensure the research studies are carried out in compliance with trial protocols, data protection regulation, and Good Clinical Practice guidelines
Communicate effectively with participants, the research team and other professionals as appropriate to ensure that the trial protocol and Standard Operating Procedures are adhered to
Provide ongoing information, advice and support to individuals participating in research studies and their study partners acting on any concerns raised in a timely manner
Support the delivery of various internal/external audits
Collaborate with peers to continuously assess the program to meet the needs of the trial; this includes policies and procedures for compliance
Take a pro-active approach with all communications with internal and external stakeholders
The skills, experience, and qualifications you'll bring:
BSc/BA in a relevant field (e.g. psychology/nursing)
Experience of working with clinical rating scales (e.g. MMSE, CDR, ADAS-Cog)
Experience in a healthcare or social care setting
Emotional Intelligence and patience
Self-motivated and proactive
Strong organisational skills
Able to work independently, and as part of a team
Demonstrable professional demeanour and ethical integrity
Even better if you have:
Knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practice principles
Background of working with midlife and elderly populations
Previous research experience
Psychiatry/neurology trial experience
