South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking experienced and dedicated Band 8a Highly Specialist Psychotherapist to join the Self-Harm Outpatient Service, based at the Maudsley Hospital. This is unique opportunity to contribute to a highly specialised service that provides therapeutic intervention and care for individuals with self-harming behaviours, often linked with complex psychological needs and mental health conditions.
What you can add:
Provide highly specialist psychotherapeutic assessments and interventions for service users referred to the Self-Harm Outpatient Service
Develop and implement formulations and evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the psychological needs of individuals
Deliver individual and/or group therapy, using different models
Use supportive counselling to explore troubling issues and receive emotional support
Provide consultation and guidance to colleagues across the team, promoting psychologically informed approaches to care
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, risk management reviews and service planning
What you'll need:
Degree in psychology, nursing, medicine or social work as well as a post graduate qualification
Fully qualified Psychotherapist with registration from a recognised professional body
Counselling skills including active listening and a non-judgemental approach
Have extensive post-qualification experience
Familiarity with EPJS systems (desirable)
