Exciting opportunity - join us as a Public Health Officer in Adult Care and Community Wellbeing!
Public Health exists to protect, promote and improve people's health and wellbeing, doing so through using a robust scientific, evidence-based approach to understand needs, shape service design and support staff development. Within this context we are currently looking to employ a Public Health Officer to join our well established and highly regarded public health team at Lincolnshire County Council.
About the Team
Our Public Health team withing Adult Care and Community Wellbeing plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering health strategies that support the wellbeing of Lincolnshire's families. Working within a portfolio structure, the team collaborates across departments and with external partners to deliver evidence-based solutions in health protection, health improvement, and healthcare public health. You'll be joining a supportive, forward-thinking group of professionals committed to innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
About the Role
The role is a 3-year fixed-term contract to cover a colleague undertaking a research programme. While the Public Health Officer role offers flexibility and variety, this post will focus on shaping services and interventions for children, young people, and their families.
As a Public Health Officer, you will:

• Support commissioning and service redesign to improve health outcomes.
• Lead and contribute to public health projects.
• Use data and evidence to guide decisions and strategy.
• Work with teams, providers, and stakeholders to ensure quality delivery.
• Provide programme management support and deputise when needed.
• Influence policy and practice through communication and partnership.

This role demands analytical thinking, creativity, and the ability to navigate complex systems under pressure. You'll be instrumental in shaping services that are cost-effective, impactful, and aligned with statutory duties and strategic priorities.
About You
We are looking for someone who:

• Has a relevant degree or significant experience in health improvement, commissioning, service design, or related fields.
• Communicates clearly and presents complex information to support strategic decisions.
• Shows awareness of health policy and related social issues.
• Builds strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.
• Understands risk management, political and financial frameworks, and performance systems.
• Is adaptable, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement.

PH Practitioner Registration is desirable, or a willingness to work towards it. Considering the focus of the role, previous experience or knowledge of family support would be advantageous.
