Job Description

We are looking for a Marketing and Publishing Manager who will enable us to offer support to our project finance arm, Kowloon Nights (\xe2\x80\x9cKowloon\xe2\x80\x9d).
The original Kowloon started in 2017 as a fund, and provides funding to PC/console developers globally. The foundational values of Kowloon are fair terms, a developer-first approach, and focus on supporting studios in their self-publishing efforts. The original fund has fully deployed its capital, investing USD100M+ to support 55 projects, including successful titles such as Spiritfarer, Sifu, Scorn, and Sea of Stars. While the original fund finished, the same project financing business now continues under Kepler Interactive, with new projects already signed. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work, developing and nurturing relationships and who is motivated by making valuable contributions. In this role, you will have tangible impact, using the skills you\xe2\x80\x99ve developed to support indie developers in crafting their marketing campaigns.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing As a conduit between publishing and marketing, and the studios, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be focused on understanding the goals of our partnered Kowloon studios, providing the support they need to bring their game to market, including strategic marketing recommendations and campaign execution. You will act as a point of consultation and guidance throughout the process, as the expert in the room.

  • Provide recommendations, quality assessment and supervision of the execution of the marketing plans, including tracking of the various Key Performance Indicators on behalf of the studio (views, engagement, wishlist\xe2\x80\x99s, sales, etc.)
  • Act as a liaison between the Kowloon studios and the Kepler business teams for platform deals, publishing opportunities and porting or expansion plans.
  • Coordinate with the Kepler publishing team for specific areas of expertise, such as Community Management, Press Relations, Influencers or Release Management, in order to provide satisfying solutions to studios.

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for from you:

  • Relationship focused: you will be supporting a range of studios, so being able to build cohesive relationships, with a high level of trust will be essential.
  • Innovative thinker: working with smaller, indie studios means you won\xe2\x80\x99t have large budgets to work with, therefore you will need to savvy and inventive in your thinking.
  • Pragmatic mindset: you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to able to anticipate problems and recognise when the projects needs have shifted.
  • Values aligned: our values inform our decision making process, they are our guiding principles, and we therefore expect everyone at Kepler to demonstrate them in their daily behaviours.

What you will have from us in return:

  • 25 days annual leave, plus public holidays and end of year shutdown.
  • We operate as a remote first business, with a globally distributed team. We trust our people to manage their own working hours and to select an office location which best suits their needs.

  • Income replacement insurance.
  • Pension matched at 4%, with the option to increase your own contributions.

Don\'t meet all the requirements? We care more about outcomes than ticking boxes, and we know the perfect person for the role often has a CV that\'s a little different. Research shows that women are particularly less likely to apply if they don\'t meet all the criteria in a job listing. If you\'re second guessing yourself, we encourage you to get in touch anyway. Don\'t quit before you\'ve started!
