This unique opportunity aims to develop, mobilise and improve current the pathway leading the team in transformation, develop of new services and working towards accreditation
The role encompasses clinical expertise and a focus on ensuring the PR service delivers the expected activity and outcomes for the patients. You will work alongside the respiratory service (nursing) clinical lead sharing a collaborative approach to managing and leading the respiratory service.
The post in a fixed term post for 2 years initially. This following funding from NHSE and an uplift from a band 7 position to a band 8a. We aim to secure additional funding which would allow the post to continue. This could mean there is an opportunity for the successful candidate to obtain a permanent post, subject to meeting role requirements in this role.
This post is ideal for physios with respiratory experience suitable for an established respiratory Band 8a or Band 7 looking for a new challenge. This could be as a secondment opportunity.
To support the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Lead in the countywide development and delivering the care for those suffering with chronic respiratory disease through Pulmonary Rehabilitation programmes.
To work across primary and secondary care to reduce the need for acute service intervention - reducing admissions, supporting early discharges, supporting colleagues and empowering patients to manage their condition with the ultimate aim of improving quality of care, through Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) and by case management of complex patients.
To provide specialist assessment of respiratory patients, advice and options on physiotherapy to other colleagues to ensure that patients are provided with a seamless service and considered as a whole.
To work with the respiratory service lead nurse in the community respiratory service, and an expert resource.
To develop the pulmonary rehabilitation team and the wider community respiratory team.
