BestPump Ltd supplies pump & process equipment to hygienic and industrial customers in the foodbev, pharma, chemical and general industry sectors.

From our facility in Coatbridge, as well as servicing and repairing pumps, we design and fabricate pump skids, process equipment, pipework and the stainless-steel equipment found in hygienic & industrial production plants.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pump Engineer who is comfortable in the workshop, on customer sites and providing technical support and sales advice to our clients.

The role involves taking responsibility for servicing and repairing pumps, assisting customers with diagnosing faults, providing solutions to process problems, and identifying new sales opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in positive displacement and centrifugal pumps, processing equipment, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset.

Direct contact with key pump manufacturers would be required and training on pump technology, pump servicing, pump selection & pump sales will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform workshop and onsite servicing, maintenance, and repair of industrial pumps, including centrifugal pumps and positive displacement pumps (hygienic bias) Conduct on-site visits to customers' facilities to diagnose pump-related issues and provide effective solutions. Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services. Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding pump operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices. Document all service activities, including inspections, repairs, and recommendations, accurately and in a timely manner. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and product developments related to pumping systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Requirements:

Experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 5 years experience in servicing and repairing industrial pumps / rotating equipment. Strong knowledge of pump systems, including pump types, components, and operation principles. Proficiency in diagnosing pump-related issues and implementing effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with customers and colleagues. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Willingness to travel to customer sites as required. Valid driver's licence and clean driving record.
