Job Description


Do you like working outdoors? Are you looking for a role that offers development opportunities? If so, our southern Sewage Pumping Station team is looking for a new team member.

What you\'ll do

Your main responsibilities will include providing support and assistance to other members of the team as and when required. You will maintain and carry out preventative maintenance on all sewage pumping stations and associated assets.

Additionally, you will help to diagnose faults on both mechanical and electrical plant, while also providing a high level of customer service. You will also ensure the health, safety and welfare of colleagues, the public and yourself. In addition, you will manage pollutions in an effective manner.

Providing emergency cover on a standby rota is also required, so you must have a flexible approach to working weekends as standby is essential.

What you\'ll need

You will be a customer-focused individual with a positive approach to resolving problems.

You should be able to work using your own initiative in a pressurised environment during the day or night.

Ideally, you will be confined space trained and qualified to NVQ level 2 in sewerage operations.

In addition, you will ideally have mechanical and electrical skills with formal qualifications in these areas, but this is not essential.

You will also have a willingness to undertake training.
