We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Pupil Progress and Attendance Officer to work as part of the school team.
The Post holder, under the guidance of senior staff, will be responsible for providing effective school support by carrying out a range of information management functions to enhance teaching, learning, assessment and outcomes for pupils. This includes effective coordination of collection, generation and distribution of core data for the school which relates to pupils in the associated systems, ensuring that all data is imported/created and maintained in an up to date and accurate manner. They will work alongside the Safeguarding Officer, School Business Manager and key school staff to provide comprehensive administrative support relating to pupils.
The successful candidate will:

Rosehill School is a maintained special school for 120 pupils aged 4-19, on the autism spectrum, which is set in a residential area on the outskirts of Nottingham City Centre. The very large majority of pupils attending the school have a diverse range of associated communication, interaction, social, imagination, sensory and learning differences. Many of our pupils have spent time in mainstream settings but move to Rosehill for a more specialised environment and curriculum. Rosehill has been a specialist provider for autistic pupils since 1980. We have a desire to meet growing demand from local communities for educating a broader spectrum of needs and differences. It is proposed to expand Rosehill onto an additional site; The new site would offer an additional 80-90 school places for CYP with SEND, and an EHC Plan.
The school serves a diverse community, drawing children and young people from a wide range of socio-economic and multicultural backgrounds. The school has an Early Year's provision and a Sixth Form. Pupil Progress & Attendance Officer
1 Job purpose:

The post holder will work alongside the Safeguarding Officer and key school staff to provide comprehensive administrative support relating to pupil attendance in liaison with parents, governors, school, and colleagues as required.
2 Principal duties and responsibilities:
Safeguarding and Pupil Attendance
Maintain accurate records and information in order to efficiently monitor pupil attendance in the school, including contacts, plans and outcomes, and the monitoring and evaluation of pupil attendance.
To provide support in the preparation and organisation of pupil attendance information, and ensure that this is distributed to parents/carers, governors, internal and external colleagues, as required.
Maintain accurate and up to date records and provide statistical information as required, including the schools digital Safeguarding platform (MyConcern), ensuring clear and comprehensive record keeping.
Support the work of the school to meet its statutory duty in relation to attendance.
Work alongside the Safeguarding Officer to support team members with general day-to-day issues.
Minute meetings, where necessary.
Attend information events, as required, to promote awareness of attendance.
To know and understanding safeguarding policies and procedures within school and ensure that legal and LA requirements are adhered to within the role.
To maintain a clearly indexed and secure filing system of records of concerns, to enable patterns to be recognised and referrals made, when appropriate.
Under the direction of the DSL, to liaise with CME/ EWO/ EHE/ other services, as required.
Contact families in response to attendance concerns i.e.: home visits or meetings in school.
Assist with home visits, where necessary.
Promote a positive attendance and punctuality culture in the school.
Assist the Safeguarding Officer in reducing pupil absences and engage with families to support them to ensure they fulfil their legal responsibilities.
Work alongside the Safeguarding Officer to identify pupils who require support in improving their attendance record.
Record on a daily basis the attendance of pupils, and provide updates on attendance patterns to the senior leadership team.
Liaise with parents/carers to encourage good attendance and timekeeping.
Contact parents/carers on a daily basis to understand the reason for absence, and record contact attempts and reasons for absence in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide regular reports to the Safeguarding Officer, highlighting long term and frequent/ persistent absences for key individual pupils.
Liaison with the School Health Service/ pupils/ staff or parents in relation to pupil welfare.
Coordinate meetings for staff, parents and external agencies in relation to pupil welfare.
Promote the school's attendance rewards system.
Data Management
Produce concise and accurate information to support senior leaders and governors in raising standards of performance across the school to support target setting, assessment, recording and reporting analysis of pupil performance.
Gathering, inputting and analysing data, to produce reports as set out in the assessment calendar.
Oversee School data returns to the DfE and other external bodies.
Maintain and develop database systems which allow assessment data to be transparent for all stakeholders, including parents and pupils.
Working closely with staff with the responsibility for assessment.
Ensure that all pupil personal and contact data is accurate and up to date.
Carrying out the end of year processes in Arbor to promote pupils into the new academic year and allocate to classes in conjunction with SLT.
Producing statistical returns and exporting data as required to the DfE and other external bodies, including generating and checking school census returns.
Managing Free School Meals, LAC/ CIN and EAL entitlement, ensuring data is updated on Arbor.
Admissions
Support the admissions procedures, including inputting admissions data into Arbor, including CTF files.
Managing the pre-admissions area in Arbor making sure all applicants are on and updated.
Finance
Collection, recording, reconciling and banking of dinner monies from pupils and parents.
Balancing of school dinner monies and provision of statistical information.
General
Providing frontline reception service.
Provide personal/administrative support to the headteacher/governing body/ staff, if required.
Provide point of contact for parents, carers, pupils, teaching staff and colleagues from other agencies.
Provide general clerical support including reprographics and filing.
Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures within the school.
Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training as required.
Liaison with Health Service/ agencies in relation to pupil welfare.
Act professionally at all times, remaining impartial and understanding the importance of ensuring that sensitive information is kept confidential, and follows GDPR procedures.
Coordinating specific training for teaching and support staff as required.
Undertaking any other duties which may be reasonably regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/ grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms.
