Pupil Support Worker, 27.5 Hours, 42.66 Weeks Per Year, Fixed Term until 17/08/2025.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Pupil Support Worker who will contribute to providing a safe, secure and inclusive school environment that builds the confidence of young people and enhance their ability to learn.

The Post Holder will work with and support school pupils in a range of situations. They are part of the school team involved in implementing school strategies designed to improve pupil performance in the following areas:

  • Progress in learning and attainment
  • Personal and social development
  • Behaviour
  • Relationships with peers
  • Relationships with staff
  • Attendance and time keeping
  • Dress code
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
