The Role
We are seeking a reliable, calm, and professional
Driver
to join our uReach team. This is a critical role ensuring the safe and punctual transition of children from their school settings to our uReach site for their afternoon sessions.
Because you will be working with children who have EHCP needs, we are looking for someone with a patient demeanor who understands the importance of routine and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Safe Transportation:
Drive children from various local primary/secondary schools to the uReach hub safely and comfortably.
Punctuality:
Ensure the 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM schedule is strictly adhered to, ensuring children arrive on time for their afternoon provision.
Child Welfare:
Maintain a calm and positive environment within the vehicle, understanding that transitions between school and the hub can be sensitive times for children with additional needs.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Ensure the vehicle is kept clean and perform basic safety checks (fuel, lights, tires) to ensure it remains roadworthy.( You will be using the uReach company car)
Communication:
Maintain clear communication with the uReach management team regarding any delays or observations during the journey.
Candidate Requirements
Age & Licensing:
Must be
over the age of 25
(for insurance purposes) and hold a clean, valid UK driving license.
Insurance History:
Ideally, no insurance claims within the last 5 years.
Compliance:
Must be able to hold an
Enhanced DBS check
and have no legal or professional barriers to working with children.
Experience:
Previous experience working with children with SEND or EHCP needs is highly desirable, but a patient and empathetic personality is essential.
Reliability:
As this role involves school transitions, 100% reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable.
