The Role



We're looking for a

Purchase Ledger Assistant (Maternity Cover)

to join our Finance team. This role is key in supporting the Purchase Ledger Supervisor and ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and efficiently through iDocuments into SAP. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business to keep transactions correct, resolve queries, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities



Process invoices through the iDocuments system, ensuring accuracy and correct allocation to delivery notes and purchase orders. Check SAP Delivery Notes from Goods In and ensure scanned copies are legible and accurate. Monitor the Accounts inbox, forwarding invoices for processing and highlighting queries to the Purchase Ledger Supervisor. Liaise with suppliers for invoices, credit notes, and statements, maintaining accurate records and reconciliations. Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve invoice queries (e.g. pricing, quantities). Support the accuracy of supplier master data in SAP. Provide input into process improvements and highlight issues to the Purchase Ledger Supervisor. Deliver excellent customer service to both internal colleagues and external suppliers.

Key Skills & Experience



Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance department within a commercial organisation, with solid knowledge of purchase ledger processes. Experience with SAP and/or iDocuments is desirable (training can be provided). A collaborative team player with strong communication skills who can also work independently once processes are understood. Quick to learn, with a flexible, proactive approach, and professional, open, and respectful in all interactions.
