Job Description

We're looking for a detail-focused individual to join our clients finance team in Manchester as a Purchase Ledger Clerk. In this permanent role, you'll be responsible for managing the accounts payable process and helping to maintain accurate financial records. It's a great opportunity to play a key part in the day-to-day operations of a busy retail accounting department.

• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain and reconcile purchase ledger accounts.
• Handle supplier queries professionally and efficiently.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Support the accounting team with ad hoc administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare reports detailing accounts payable activity and status.

A successful Purchase Ledger should have:

• Previous experience in accounts payable or a related role in accounting and finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and systems.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
