Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing:
The role of the Purchasing & Material Controller is to ensure that all related Purchasing activities and processes are carried out for the Hull site effectively and in a timely manner to meet the operational, financial and supplier requirements
The Purchasing & Material Controller will ensure that all raw materials and consumables are managed accordingly and are available to meet the production requirements of the site.
The Purchasing & Material Controller will be expected to work collaboratively and closely with Logistics, Supply Chain and Planning teams at other Flexipol sites to the mutual benefit of the wider Flexipol division.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive strategic purchasing and supply chain initiatives in partnership with management.
Manage all purchasing, inventory control, and material planning activities using the ERP system (Epicor), reducing reliance on manual processes.
Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials and consumables while balancing working capital.
Administer purchase orders from creation to invoice approval, including supplier liaison and issue resolution.
Lead monthly stocktakes, variance analysis, and inventory reporting.
Support BRCGS and ISO standards as the designated deputy, ensuring supplier compliance, product quality, and audit readiness.
Oversee supplier onboarding, performance reviews, and certification management.
Promote safe working practices, continuous improvement, and cross-site collaboration.
A Few Things About You:
Good attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data, orders and compliance documentation
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, internal teams and auditors
Organisational skills to manage priorities, deadlines and supplier activities
Adaptable to embrace change and continuous improvement
Your experience will include:
At least 2 years of experience in Purchasing and Stock Management, within a manufacturing industry.
Have experience with BRC demands
Educated to college level (A-levels/ BTecs) essential
Educated to degree level (desirable)
Excellent IT skills, proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
When You'll Be Working:
You will be working a 37.5 hour week between Monday to Thursday 08:30am to 17:00pm, Friday 08:30am to 15:30pm with 45 minute lunch break.
