Major Manufacturing Firm who are part of a truly global business based in Telford are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their business.
This business boast a strong order book & are in a period of major investment which bodes well for future years.

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the procurement of all production equipment, supplies and services relating to current production. You will be expected to contribute at both a strategic and operational level in order to identify Purchasing priorities and recommend appropriate purchasing strategies and management solutions which support the business needs.

Role: Purchasing Manager
Salary: up to \xc2\xa365,000 per annum + pension + benefits
Location: Telford

The role of Purchasing Manager is an important role currently for the business and the key requirements will be:-

  • Manage all facility purchasing activities and personnel reporting to this position
  • Plan, organise and carry out purchasing programs to ensure quality materials, parts, sub-assemblies, and components are obtained at the lowest prices with expeditious delivery, and best possible terms
  • Source and select suppliers and vendors, negotiate prices, analyse quotations, and award purchase orders
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs to ensure consistent quality and delivery to cost.
  • Containment of supplier concerns and management of supplier problem resolution activities.
  • Support new program launches and make improvements in the Division\'s CMS system
  • Conduct performance evaluations of Purchasing staff as specified by company goals, maintain employee documentation
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
  • Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant and supplier base
The Experience needed for the Purchasing Manager will be:-
  • Proven track record of managing a varied supplier base in a Fast paced Manufacturing Environment
  • CIPS Level 5 or higher is expected of a Senior Manager in a Procurement position
  • A level headed but driven approach to direct line management with good experience of leadership a technical team
  • Experience in managing service providers
  • Proven track record in delivering year on year cost savings through negotiation and sourcing activities
  • Investigator / problem solver
  • PC Literacy - MS office and SAP
