We are looking to appoint a Purchasing Specialist to join the Logistics department on a part time basis.
As part of a dedicated team that values outstanding customer service, you will be experienced in managing a variety of activities in a fast-paced environment. Skills that you have developed in a supply chain, administrative, scheduling, or production planning role, particularly in a manufacturing environment, will be an asset. Previous experience working in a biotechnology, GMP environment or pharmaceutical organization will also be useful. You will be comfortable building relationships with a variety of internal customers and external suppliers.
Key aspects of the role will include:
Assisting with the sourcing of products and / or services, including requesting quotations with suppliers
Performing the on-boarding process for new suppliers and maintaining associated supplier files and records
Perform annual supplier reviews and feedback to suppliers where necessary
Placing and managing purchase orders and processing purchase order returns
Resolving supply issues to ensure products and / or services are supplied on time to meet business needs
Preparing data using Excel to support Purchasing and Planning activities
Taking an active role in continuous improvement projects across all aspects of Purchasing and Planning
Attending meetings, both internal and external, as required, representing the Logistics function / Company in a professional manner
Assist planning and raw material purchasing with ad-hoc tasks where necessary
The successful candidate will have education and / or experience in some, or all, of the following areas:
A Levels / NVQ Level 3, or equivalent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to manage varying and high volumes of work in an organized way
Good written and verbal communication skills
High level of accuracy and good accounting skills
Customer focused
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft AX would be beneficial)
Experience in a supply chain role within a GMP/Life sciences manufacturing environment desirable
