VACANCY: Purchasing Manager

SHIFT: Monday - Friday 7am/8am - 4pm/5pm.

ABOUT US:

MTL Advanced is a Yorkshire-based, engineering and manufacturing company operating from a 390,000 sq. ft. facility in Rotherham.

We have invested in an extensive range of technology and equipment and provide services to a range of OEM's from leading industries including defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling and rail.

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Review supplier performance, negotiate contracts and improve procurement processes. Monitor market trends and forecast procurement needs Implement and manage company-wide purchasing strategy Lead the purchasing team and support individual growth and development Drive cost reduction across supplier activity Accurate tracking of purchasing data and introduce KPIs Collaborate with internal departments to meet operational needs Liaise with Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate payments

ABOUT YOU:

Experience in purchasing/procurement within an

engineering or manufacturing

environment with the ability to understand engineering drawings.

Management experience

- able to lead and develop a team Proven ability to negotiate, manage contracts and build supplier relationships Knowledge of

lean manufacturing

principles Understanding of supply chain and procurement strategies CIPS qualification / relevant degree or extensive practical experience Strong IT skills, including Excel and purchasing systems Ideally with a background in machinery or technical drawings.
