International Purchasing & Logistics Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Liphook

We are looking for a Purchasing & Logistics Manager to join our client based in Liphook in a part-time role, this is a really friendly and nice company to work for. The International Purchasing & Logistics Manager will work closely with the suppliers in the far East, so experience dealing with Asian markets is required. You will be responsible for stock management and co-ordination, keeping track of shipments and working with sales, operations and finance. The role required 25 hours a week which can be flexible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Optimise finished goods stock levels/availability in order to support our sales and financial objectives
  • Liaise with Asian and UK suppliers placing orders as required to meet current and future requirements
  • Book and co-ordinate UK and International shipments by road and sea
  • Ensure cost effective and timely transport of goods to/from all overseas and UK destinations
  • Process the creation of all necessary documents (including commercial invoices) ensuring they are legal and correct and shared as required
  • Liaise with all departments to ensure good communication of purchase, inventory and dispatch requirements
  • Be involved with service improvements and also come up with ways to reduce costs and improve efficiencies
  • Working with despatch to ensure all delivery/collection schedules are in order, to avoid any issues
  • Work with colleagues to implement effective systems and improve inventory controls
  • Undertake range rationalisation exercises from time to time
  • Provide regular and adhoc MI and analytics as required by the business
Experience and Skills Requirements
  • Knowledge & experience in logistics / international shipping and logistics process improvement
  • Ability to work within a small team and individually without supervision
  • Influence the activities of other departments without direct authority over them
  • Able to make decisions independently under time pressure
  • Competent using ERP/MRP software and associated reporting
  • A-Levels in STEM subjects
  • Experience within the Logistics function of a manufacturing or distribution organisation
  • Experience planning & co-ordinating international shipping, specifically China and India
  • High proficiency level in MS Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook), and ERP systems
  • Degree educated or be able to demonstrate significant relevant experience for successful delivery in role.
  • Professional qualification in area of Logistics/Supply Chain/Procurement
