The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Reporting to the COO, Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile 'streams' aligned to specific business areas. Our other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including our global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture and design.
The QA Automation Engineer proactively assists the Finance development team with increasing the quality of the systems they build and maintain. Working with developers and stakeholders, the QA strives to improve system reliability, accelerate change throughput, shift-left and automate quality control, ensure fulfilment of business requirements, and prevent regression. Knowledge of PeopleSoft applications and specifically Financials and accounting practises will be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Know our productsby verifying that all product pieces and components are functioning and meets quality standards.
Detecting and investigatingdefects and liaising with developers through to resolution.
Writing, executing, and maintaining automation test scripts*. Prioritise and plan testing activities, tighten quality. Manual testing within Finance - Peoplesoft*. Support our Manual testing of Peoplesoft application within Finance & Investigate Automation approach. Support the QA teammaintaining a wiki and helping to develop a comprehensive knowledge base of applications, known current and previous defects and testing procedures for those applications which we shared and used by QA.
Contributing to development standups and SCRUM ceremonies*, working with developers to define testable acceptance criteria. Liaising with stakeholders*, assisting with requirements elicitation, and providing regular updates and product demonstrations. Collaborate with Supportassisting with resolution of support issues where appropriate.
Convert the QA functionby keeping abreast of QA trends within the software industry, proposing and implementing new ideas and tools to improve our QA processes.
Skills and Experience:
Strong understanding of financial markets
o Experience with engaging with trading desks and Quant teams
Track history of using Postman or Swagger for API testing
JIRA, XRAY, WIKI, Bitbucket cloud, AWS, Splunk, Grafana all beneficial.
Experience with using SQL Management Studio and MongoDB to query databases, as well as using data for test purposes.
Understanding of software diagnostic tools and testing methods (automation, smoke, functionality, usability, performance, regression, and user acceptance).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to work across our company global teams.
Experience working closely with development teams.
Agile and scrum development methodologies.
Demonstrable use of initiative.
Attention to detail and a passion for driving up the quality of software.
Creating/maintaining automation framework
o Experience with TypeScript, Python and Playwright
