We're looking for a QA Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality and performance of ITV's next generation of business systems.
You'll apply the principles, practices and standards of acceptance testing throughout the software development lifecycle, working closely with business stakeholders, developers, and product teams to deliver solutions that meet both technical and commercial objectives.
You'll define acceptance criteria, create test scripts, lead acceptance testing cycles, and manage defect resolution processes. A significant part of the role will also involve hands-on QA writing and maintaining automated test suites using Java and TypeScript/JavaScript, performing manual, exploratory, and performance testing, and ensuring security and resilience are at the heart of everything we deliver.

The team
ITV Technology and Global Partnerships are working together on a major programme of change, building new systems and capabilities for Rights, Content Sales & Licensing, Royalties, Customer Relationship Management, and Contract Lifecycle Management.
As part of this transformation, the QA function plays a pivotal role in ensuring we deliver secure, high-quality, and scalable systems across a mix of SaaS products, API integrations, and in-house applications. You'll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional technology team committed to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Working with business teams and end users to document Acceptance Criteria.
Writing automated tests to assure our products remain correct over their lifetime
Performing manual & exploratory testing to verify system behaviour and uncover defects
Performing tests against service APIs, user interfaces, databases, and code units as appropriate
Working with the engineering team to ensure the quality of the solution as it is being built, including attending planning sessions, demo's, code reviews, etc
Helping to identify and evaluate testing tools and techniques
Acting as gatekeeper as products go through the delivery pipeline, ensuring their continued quality as they are deployed
Communicating effectively with stakeholders, business analysts, users, developers, and engineers to agree solutions
Sharing best practices and new technologies with the wider team to promote innovation, e.g. via show & tell sessions, POC/prototyping, etc
The ability to adapt to change as the team and ITV's business grows and changes.
Skills you'll need
(minimum criteria)
At least 3+ years of previous experience in testing or QA engineering
Proven ability to write and maintain automated tests using Java and/or Javascript/Typescript
Hands-on experience with manual and exploratory testing to assure the quality of the implementation against the specified requirements, and uncover edge case issues
Strong experience in API level testing, ideally using tools such as Postman or REST Assured
Demonstrable experience and knowledge of working within a collaborative, cross-functional Agile team.
Detailed understanding of stress testing, volume testing, negate testing and security testing.
Experience using tools such as Playwright for automation
Other things we're looking for

Knowledge of Gherkin Syntax and BDD approach considered advantageous.
Familiarity with Cypress, Selenium, SauceLabs or similar automated testing tools
Experience in non-functional and performance testing
Familiarity with Git Repository, Jira, Confluence.
