We are a leading Principal Contractor, specialising in the design, supply, installation, refurbishment, and maintenance of curtain walling & cladding.
Presently operating at 50m+ turnover, with an 24-month secured order book, and a strategic, sustainable company growth plan we now seek an experienced Quality Manager to join our existing highly skilled team.
Based on site full time in Birmingham, the successful candidate will possess an exceptional level of facade/building envelope industry knowledge and have a proven record of managing quality on site.
Requirements:
10+ years' experience working in the facade installation industry with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Quality Management,
Extensive experience working on major projects - value ranging from 5 million to 25+ million
Proven history of managing site productive labour and management teams,
A comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of a range of differing facade types and systems; knowledge of terracotta tile, render and brickwork would be an advantage
Have previous experience working alongside or within a design office and have a full understanding of the fabrication processes
Detailed understanding of fire engineering and the requirements of prevailing regulations, particularly Approved Document B (1&2)
Hold a Managers CSCS card, SSSTS certification (& First Aid certificate)
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Take overall responsibility for the quality of the installation on site
Existing knowledge of quality assurance platforms such as Fast Field, Bolster, Simpro, or similar.
Manage and supervise installation teams ensuring all quality assurance records (photos and relevant data) through the installation process are maintained
Manage and collate date for all QA records
Ability to answer technical questions for multiple facade types and strategically find, develop & implement solutions.
Must be able to ensure that the Project team fully understands the design and specification requirements of the Project, and ensure full compliance is maintained from site commencement through to handover.
Assist the site management team to continually manage the construction Programme, work schedules and report site progress to the Project Management teams
Liaise with design and site management teams with regards to any design/installation issues
Liaise directly with the design team to discuss potential issues, and with procurement teams to ensure orders are placed and delivered to site in accordance with the project programme to maintain undisrupted progress on site.
Assist in the managing and motivating the site team to maintain a positive work environment.
Assist in maintaining high levels of health & safety throughout the project.
