Job Description

The Quality Manager works alongside the Compliance Manager, maintaining and developing quality policies and procedures and driving continuous improvement initiatives to uphold the organisation's commitment to both the DNV-ST-0029 and ISO 9001 certifications. In addition to any other compliance tasks, the Compliance Manager deems appropriate for the benefit of the business.



Support the Compliance Manager, maintain and continuously improve the organisation's DNV Certification as a Maritime Training Provider, the implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS), and ensuring products and services meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

In the absence of the Compliance Manager, the Quality Manager will provide support with the sanction screening of customers and all other standards and certifications.
Key Responsibilities


Quality Management Systems (QMS)


Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation's QMS following the requirements of ISO 9001 & DNV-ST-0029. Support the Compliance Manager, assisting with regular internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards. Develop and maintain quality policies, procedures, and documentation. Lead quality improvement initiatives and projects to enhance product and service quality. Support with the monitoring and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual quality requirements. Facilitate and provide training and support to employees on quality-related topics. Facilitate both internal and external audits to ensure compliance with all applicable standards.



Deliverables/Outcomes:



A robust and compliant QMS that effectively manages quality risks. Successful internal and external audit reports. Continuous Improvement processes that are evidenced in the Continual Improvement of all applicable standards. Increased employee awareness and adherence to Quality Management policies. Compliance with all applicable standards.



Category: Customer Satisfaction



Monitor and analyse feedback from internal and external stakeholders to ensure the organisation are identifying appropriate areas that may require improvement. Implement corrective and preventative actions based on feedback. Foster a customer-focused culture within the organization.

Improved customer satisfaction and loyalty. Reduced the number of customer complaints. Timely resolution of quality-related issues.



Category: Continuous Improvement



Identify opportunities for improvement in quality management practices and implement corrective actions. Stay updated on the latest quality management trends, best practices, and technologies.

Ongoing enhancements to the organization's Quality Management System (QMS). Adoption of best practices and emerging technologies in Quality Management.



Category: Sanctions



Maintain sanctions screening procedures for customers. Ensure internal escalation processes are both implemented and effective.

Effective sanctions screening processes. Ensure organisation remains compliant with all relevant sanctions lists.




Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


Proven experience with ISO 9001 and DNV-ST-0029 standards - Maritime Training Provider (Desirable) Proven experience in managing QMS and ensuring compliance with ISO9001 standards Knowledge of ISO27001 or Cyber or IT Security Certification (Highly Advantageous) Strong knowledge of quality management principles, external audit practices, processes and methodologies. Experience of Cloud Operations (Desirable) Familiarity with sanctions screening and compliance protocols Ability to develop and maintain quality policies and procedures Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (e.g., root cause analysis, CAPA) Excellent communication and training skills High attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work independently and support leadership in their absence Proficient in using quality-related software/tools and data analysis
