The Cost & Planning Manager is responsible for project budgeting, cost control, operational planning, and commercial reporting to ensure the efficient and profitable delivery of projects. This role acts as the vital link between sales handover and project delivery at Steel Build Ltd.

Responsibilities

Ensure seamless transition of secured sales into operational delivery plans.

Establish and manage project trackers, master planners, and application white cards.

Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with delivery programmes.

Manage financial aspects of projects including applications, vesting certificates, variations, valuations, and final accounts.

Forecast project revenue to support cash flow management.

Monitor and maintain budgets, identifying deviations and implementing recovery plans.

Manage contract documentation, including review, signing, and safe storage.

Liaise with internal teams to align financial and operational objectives.

Assist in preparing monthly commercial and operational reports.

Support continuous improvement in cost management and planning practices.

Qualifications

Proven experience in cost control or financial management within a similar industry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail. Effective communication skills, capable of presenting findings clearly to non-financial stakeholders. A recognised qualification in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred but not essential.
