Role Overview
The QSE Co-ordinator supports the effective operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of Forte Engineering's Business Management System (BMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, alongside RISQS requirements.
The role assists senior management in promoting Quality, Safety, and Environmental (QSE) best practice across the company's design and project delivery activities.
This is a part-time role (typically 2-3 days per week) suitable for an organised and proactive individual with a NEBOSH qualification and experience within engineering, construction, or rail sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Management System (BMS)
Maintain and update the BMS documentation in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
Support internal audits under the guidance of the company's appointed Competent Person.
Coordinate external audits, collate evidence, and monitor close-out actions.
Manage and update the Corrective and Preventive Action (Ca-Pa) Tracker.
Ensure scheduled document reviews and version control are completed on time.
Prepare and contribute to management review meetings, presenting QSE performance data and improvement actions.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Support compliance with current H&S and environmental legislation, in collaboration with the company's HS&E Consultant.
Assist in carrying out H&S and environmental legal compliance audits.
Help review and maintain risk assessments and environmental aspect & impact registers.
Administer the review and recommendations for employee safety and environmental training.
Support senior management in incident and non-conformance investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Rail & Industry Standards
Monitor updates from NetRegs, HSE, SEPA, CIRAS, RISQS, and RSSB, providing notifications on relevant changes.
Review updates to Railway Group Standards and Network Rail Company Standards, assessing business impact.
Assist in maintaining RISQS accreditation and associated rail compliance documentation.
Communication & Coordination
Distribute safety briefings to site teams, ensuring acknowledgements are received and recorded.
Act as deputy for the Sentinel Co-ordinator when required.
Maintain the Company Equipment Register (QA04-ADM402).
Support office and project managers in implementing the company's Safety, Environmental, and Quality Policies.
Minimum Competency Requirements
Essential
NEBOSH General Certificate (or Construction equivalent).
Good understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems.
Experience within a QSE, SHEQ, or compliance role.
Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Competent in Microsoft Office 365 and document management systems.

Working Arrangements
Part-time (2-3 days per week), flexible schedule.
Primarily office-based in East Kilbride with occasional travel to sites or head office.
