to join our team and work with students in a supportive small-group setting.
Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable
Science Tutor
to teach
small group sessions (2-6 students)
in person. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science), excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for education.
Please note: All applicants must be QTS qualified or undergoing QTS qualification. Applications without valid ITTS certification will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Conduct engaging, interactive in-person science tutoring sessions for small groups of students (grades [insert range, e.g., 6-12])
Customize lesson plans based on students' academic levels, school curriculum, and learning goals
Track and report student progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians as needed
Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
Collaborate with Future Tutors staff to ensure curriculum alignment and scheduling
Qualifications
Must hold a valid QTS qualification or be completing this qualification
Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Science, Education, or a related field
Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience (preferred)
Strong knowledge of science topics, especially in middle and high school curriculums
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage a small group of students effectively
Reliable transportation and availability for consistent, in-person sessions
Passion for helping students learn and succeed
Schedule & Location
Sessions will take place in person at 548 Ley St, IG2 7DB
Flexible weekday afternoons and/or weekends (schedule to be coordinated based on tutor and student availability)
