What you'll do
As QTL you'll be responsible for the end-to-end assessment process for a portfolio of subjects, ensuring both formative and summative assessments are technically robust, valid, and reliable and consistently deliver valid, reliable, and fair results.
You'll lead on the creation of assessments, working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to align assessments with the syllabus and delivery; proactively safeguarding assessment quality and integrity to deliver fair outcomes for all students. You'll thrive under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
Contributing to the technical expertise and development of assessment strategy, you'll drive continual improvements whilst looking ahead to the future of assessments.
You'll also work closely with markers, providing relevant training, oversee standardisation of marking and provide technical expertise throughout the marking process in collaboration with moderators.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a Chartered Accountant (or relevant equivalent Level 11 Masters) with demonstrable technical expertise and established professional experience in:
Financial and non-financial reporting including:
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting for complex transactions and events
Preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS
Preparation of disclosures including non-financial reporting and performance disclosures in accordance with relevant standards
Effective communication of statutory and non-statutory information in corporate reporting.
Assurance including:
Technical and practical experience of all stages of a statutory assurance engagement
In-depth knowledge and experience of audit data analytics and insights
Experience of non-statutory assurance including sustainability reporting engagements
You'll be skilled and adept at managing complex assessment processes and consistently delivering high-stakes outcomes with accuracy, validity, and reliability and working at pace. You're an excellent communicator, able to build productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and have a meticulous attention to detail--especially when critiquing technical accuracy and compliance with assessment standards. Experience within a learning or assessment environment (for example within a training provider, or within higher education) is desirable. Being familiar with qualification frameworks and regulatory compliance would also be advantageous. We will provide training where necessary.
