As an Accountant within our client\'s team, you will play a pivotal role in the finance department, with the potential for career advancement into a Finance Manager position in the future!

About the Role:

In this commercial role, you will be responsible for presenting Management Information (MI) to senior management and utilising your strong data analysis skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

Your organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks will be essential as you handle month-end reviews, reporting, and preparation of management accounts. Maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail are paramount in this role, as you will handle sensitive financial information.

The successful candidate would be based in our clients South Gyle office, 4 days a week with one day working from home, they also offer flexitime.

Our client are looking to pay up to \xc2\xa350,000 per annum.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely statutory accounts.

• Conduct month-end reviews and generate insightful reports.

• Prepare management accounts to provide crucial financial insights.

• Complete various month-end balance sheet account reconciliations within specified deadlines.

• Manage the preparation of VAT returns and HMRC payments.

• Coach and assist other team members in the finance department.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders on reporting, budgets, cash-flows, and forecasts.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective communication and influence at all levels.

• Excellent planning and organising abilities, allowing you to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make decisions and resolve challenges.

• Ownership and accountability for your responsibilities, delivering results consistently.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in accounting roles.

• Familiarity with Sage50 and a strong grasp of Excel.

• Knowledge of VAT returns and HMRC compliance.

• hold a recognised UK accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ICAS, ICAEW, CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA)
