We need a

qualified accountant

with a strong background in accountancy, taxation and compliance. This is a key role within the firm, with responsibility for managing and reviewing personal tax compliance, supporting sole traders and companies, providing advisory support, meeting with clients, and helping drive the continued growth of the practice.

Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of financial management principles ,taxation and compliance.

Responsibilities



Deliver tax advisory work to business owners, including tax planning, advising on the acquisition and disposal of businesses, reorganisations, business incorporations and remuneration planning.

Deal with HMRC enquiries and investigations, including reviewing junior members' advice, financial analysis and technical research.

Support with the management, training and development of junior team member.

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with regulatory standards.

Manage and review personal tax , self-employed tax returns, vat return & CT600 for a varied portfolio of clients.

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Moneysoft, VT ,Tax Calc and PeopleSoft to streamline financial operations.

Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff members in accounting practices, compliance and software usage.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support organisational goals.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies through regular audits.

Experience



Proven experience as an Accountant, practice manager or in a similar role within the accountancy sector. Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software including Sage, VT, Taxcalc and PeopleSoft is essential. Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting and forecasting. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to mentor junior staff members effectively, fostering a collaborative work environment. Strong technical knowledge of UK & international taxation, including MTD for IT. Confident in meeting clients face-to-face, with excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client expectations.
