About the Role
We are a well-established and friendly orthodontic practice dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in a supportive and professional environment. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic GDC-registered Dental Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering a first-class service and working collaboratively to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities
Chairside Assistance:
Provide direct, chairside support to the orthodontists, orthodontic therapists or hygienist.
Patient Care:
Greet and prepare patients for their appointments, ensuring their comfort and providing reassurance, especially for anxious or vulnerable individuals. Provide pre- and post-treatment instructions as directed by the clinician.
Infection Control:
Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cross-infection control in accordance with HTM 01-05 guidelines and practice policy. This includes the sterilisation and preparation of instruments and the decontamination of the surgery between patients.
Administrative Duties:
Accurately record patient information, chart treatment details, manage patient records, assist with reception duties such as answering phones, booking appointments, replying to emails and handling patient payments.
Surgery Management:
Prepare the surgery for each patient, ensuring all necessary materials, instruments, and equipment are in place. Manage stock control and ensure that all supplies are readily available.
Health & Safety:
Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials and clinical waste.
Essential Skills and Requirements
GDC Registration:
Must be a fully qualified and registered Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC).
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
Teamwork:
A proactive and collaborative team player who can work effectively with all members of the dental team.
Organisational Skills:
Highly organised with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Confidentiality:
A strong understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality and data protection.
IT Skills:
Competency in using dental software systems and other common office applications.
Desirable Qualifications (but not essential)
Experience in orthodontics
Additional qualifications in Dental Radiography, Orthodontic nursing or Oral Health Education.

Pay: From 14.00 per hour
