Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic qualified Level 3 Early Years Educator with a minimum of 1 years experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and creating a nurturing learning environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on children's early development.
Duties:
- Plan and implement engaging activities to support children's learning and development
- Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children, equipment must be safe, standards of hygiene high, safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Support children with their social, emotional, and educational needs
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the preschool
- Deliver the EYFS curriculum and achieve desirable learning outcomes. Highlight areas of concern if a child is not making ongoing progress in their development.
- Ensure Safeguarding is highly promoted and part of everything we do.
- To maintain equality of opportunity for all children and families within setting.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times adhere to the pre-schools policies on data protection (GDPR).
- Actively participate and provide a high level of care that will enhance the children's general health and well-being. Take the time to listen and respond to the children and encourage their participation.
- Promote and maintain an inclusive culture and environment.
- Provide equal opportunities for all children and families within the setting.
- To be the key person for a group of children at the settings and to be responsible for them
- To ensure that their progress is regularly observed and effectively assessed. To keep informative, accurate and up-to-date records, including records of progress and any behavioural or developmental concerns.
- To create clear next steps for those children to ensure they continually develop at their own rate.
- To supervise the children and to protect them from dangerous and harmful situations.
- To recognise and act upon children's additional or special educational needs and ensure staff support these children effectively. Ensure all activities take into account the SEN Code of Practice, Child Protection Procedures.
- To keep online learning journals on FAMLY detailing progress and observations for your key children, and be prepared to complete these at home if required.
- Ensure parents of your key children receive regular feedback on their child's development and progress. Actively seek feedback from our families on how to make our Pre-school even better.
- To arrange and attend parent/carer meetings to allow two-way discussion of their children's needs, interests and progress undertaking the role of key person or back up key person to a group of children.
- Change the nappies of smaller children if required, and support all the children with their self care.
- To support the preparation of snacks, ensuring that all children receive a daily healthy snack and drink and all dietary, allergy and cultural needs are met.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a childcare setting
- Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education or similar field
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to manage and lead activities for young children
- Drive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
