Job Description

Ramillies Hall is an independent Nursery and Holiday Club in Cheadle Hulme. Our staff provide a stimulating, exciting, caring and secure environment for children aged 6 months to 11 years

Key aspects of the role:



1. To care for children aged from 6 months to 5 years of age, aspiring to meet their physical, social, emotional and intellectual developmental needs to the highest quality of care and education.

2. To read and adhere to all policies and procedures of Ramillies Hall Nursery and Holiday Club

3. To work as part of a team to provide and promote positive relationships and an enabling environment in which all individual children feel respected and valued.

4. To meet all requirements of the EYFS, ensuring that children's safety is paramount at all times and individual development, needs and interests are planned for and met.

Duties and Responsibilities:



1. Effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interests of all children are continually met through engaging and age appropriate learning opportunities.

2. To ensure that safeguarding is always priority and to be aware of and follow all safeguarding policies and procedures.

3. To work as and promote an effective early years team ensuring communication and collaboration is a priority.

4. To promote the inclusion and equal opportunities of all children and their families.

5. To adhere to confidentiality at all times, all information regarding the setting, children, their families and staff is not to be discussed outside of the setting.

6. To act as a role model to children modelling the highest standards of personal conduct and provide support for children's ongoing emotional and social needs, adhering to the behaviour management policy at the setting.

7. As a key person, observe, assess and plan for individual key children ensuring that all developmental records and learning journals are kept up to date.

8. As a key person strive to promote close partnerships with children and their families.

9. Attend to all children's physical needs such as feeding, changing nappies, clothes and toileting when required.

10. To ensure that an enabling environment is provided, continually reflect upon and adapt the nursery environment to promote learning through play, independence and curiosity to discover and learn.

11. To ensure that all differing needs are met taking into account individual children's cultural, religious, dietary and developmental needs.

12. To ensure that when needed children receive additional support regarding their development and this is approached by liaising with parents and carers in the first instance and other professionals when and if required.

13. To ensure that children with special educational needs and disability are fully supported to engage in all opportunities at the setting.

14. To ensure that safety, hygiene and cleanliness are assessed and maintained at all times, this includes certain domestic duties such as preparation of snacks and cleaning of nursery equipment and the nursery environment when necessary.

15. To be flexible in regards to working practices, undertaking other duties deemed as necessary when required.

16. Be conversant with ongoing developments in early years practice and use this knowledge to enhance the provision and own practice in relation to curriculum requirements, this includes sharing any relevant early years information with the staff team.

17. To show enthusiasm in own continued professional development and participate in training that is required, this may also include training outside of contracted working hours.

18. To understand and implement the nursery systems and procedures regarding record keeping.

19. To support early years assistants, apprentices, students and volunteers.

20. To attend staff meetings when required, these may also be outside of contracted working hours.

21. To uphold and promote the nursery and holiday club's high standards at all times.
