Principal Duties And Responsibilities of

a

Qualified Nursery Practitioner:

Must be qualified with a relevant early years educator qualification to at least Level 2 or above. Paediatric First Aid is preferable

,

although training can be provided Must have at least 1 years' experience in an Early Years Setting A Safeguarding Certificate is preferable, although training can be provided

Daily responsibilities of a Qualified Nursery Practitioner:

To help plan, provide and take part in play-based activities that stimulate and support children's learning and development. To listen to, encourage and support children in their play, learning and development. To assist and support children with personal care requirements. This may include changing nappies, assisting with toileting needs, changing clothes and shoes and helping children at meal times. To abide by all policies and procedures in place within the setting at all times and be aware of Ofsted requirements. To help to ensure the setting is a safe environment by following health and safety procedures and checking equipment is safe to use and age appropriate. To be aware of the settings Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and the signs and symptoms of child abuse. To be aware of emergency procedures and what procedures are to be followed in the event of an accident or incident. To be aware of infection control and ensure good hygiene standards.
Duties may vary from day to day.

As the role involves working with children

,

you will be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore all convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings (including those which would typically be considered 'spent' under the Act) must be declared.

Any offer of employment is conditional upon receipt of an Enhanced Disclosure Check (DBS Form) and two references from previous employers.
