Are you looking to start a career in childcare? Choo Choo's Day Nursery are currently employing! We are looking for a practitioner to join our friendly team!

We are looking for practitioners who can ideally work full time, flexible between the hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. However, we would also consider candidates who wanted to work part time, for example 2 days a week, or 20 hours per week. Please state the hours you desire when applying.

About the Company:

Choo Choo's Day Nursery and Preschool is a family run setting in Taunton, that provides exceptional standards of childcare for children aged 3 months to 11 years. Here at Choo Choo's we aim to provide an environment that will encourage children to develop into happy and confident individuals. We foster our child's natural curiosity, sense of awe and wonder, enthusiasm to learn, and encourage the children to explore and investigate a range of resources and materials using all of their senses. We work closely with our sister setting, Chugger's Day Nursery, to share good practice and support children's learning and development. We offer an outstanding and nurturing experience in a beautiful, warm and traditional environment. The nursery offers great facilities and promotes outdoor learning.

The role of the Nursery Practitioner is to ensure all children attending Choo Choo's Day Nursery receive high quality care, are kept safe and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Development Matters curriculum

Passionate about supporting the development of children between the ages of 3 months and 11 years? Experienced with children and have a basic understanding of the EYFS? Enthusiastic and willing to go above and beyond? Hardworking and a team player? Creative and plan original and fun activities for the children? Able to build a long lasting, trusting relationship with parents, staff and children? Hoping to progress within the nursery setting?

We are looking for committed, enthusiastic and inspiring individuals with a basic understanding of development matters. You must possess excellent planning and communication skills both written and verbal, be self-motivated and flexible and enjoy working as part of a team. A sense of humour is essential.

Essential Requirements (all can be obtained through nursery):
Enhanced DBS check (must have a clean Criminal Record)
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Paediatric First Aid certificate
Child Protection and Safeguarding training
