We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health nursing, with experience in various healthcare settings. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting recovery and rehabilitation.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment, ensuring adherence to prescribed protocols.
Provide therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing acute mental health episodes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
Participate in discharge planning and follow-up care to ensure continuity of services.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health nursing.
Experience
Candidates should have a solid foundation in nursing with experience or training in the following areas:
Epic and Cerner EMR systems for efficient patient documentation.
Experience in critical care settings, including ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
Knowledge of behavioral health practices, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Familiarity with pain management techniques, acute pain management, and hospice & palliative medicine.
Proficiency in medical terminology, medication administration, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and vital sign monitoring.
Experience in geriatrics, memory care, home care, or assisted living environments is preferred.
Understanding of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate medical documentation.
Ability to perform physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.
