Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and experienced Sales Person with a strong background in the same-day courier sector to join our energetic logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of cultivating new business, maintaining key client relationships, and demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the fast-moving world of same-day deliveries. As a Sales Person, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring client satisfaction in a highly competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development: Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the same-day courier market, including SMEs, corporate clients, e-commerce businesses, and retail partners. Conduct market research to pinpoint potential clients and industry trends.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing clients. Understand their evolving needs and ensure our courier solutions are tailored for maximum satisfaction.
Sales Presentations and Proposals: Deliver compelling presentations and accurate quotations to prospective clients, clearly articulating the advantages of our same-day delivery solutions. Prepare bespoke proposals and negotiate contracts to close deals effectively.
Account Management: Oversee the onboarding process for new clients, monitor account performance, and proactively resolve any issues to ensure high service standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with our operations, dispatch, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery from sales through fulfillment. Share feedback and market intelligence to improve service offerings.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline development, and customer communications using CRM systems. Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
Networking: Attend industry events, networking meetings, and trade shows to raise the company's profile and generate leads.
Customer Service: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing guidance, troubleshooting service disruptions, and ensuring concerns are swiftly addressed.
Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with developments in the courier and logistics industry, including competitor activity, technological advancements, and regulatory changes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven sales experience, ideally 2+ years, within the same-day courier or broader logistics sector.
Demonstrable ability to achieve and exceed sales targets in a competitive, fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of the operational and logistical requirements of same-day courier services.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
Strong customer orientation, with a knack for understanding and addressing client concerns.
Proficiency in using CRM software and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Effective negotiation and contract management skills.
Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently or as part of a high-performing team.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as required.
