? Qualified Social Worker - Care Leavers (Care Experienced Team)
? Location: West Midlands
? Pay: 38 per hour
? Hybrid: 3 days per week in the office
Are you a passionate and experienced Qualified Social Worker looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of care-experienced young people? We're recruiting on behalf of a West Midlands Local Authority for a dedicated professional to join their Care Leavers Team. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people transitioning into independence-helping them not just survive, but thrive.
? The Role
You'll work in a supportive and forward-thinking team, backed by an experienced Team Manager and a strong supervision framework-including monthly individual and group reflective sessions.
This dynamic service supports care-experienced young people with:
- Pathway planning
- Independent living skills
- Access to education, employment, and health services
- Emotional wellbeing and relationship support
? Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a confident, committed, and compassionate Qualified Social Worker who:
? Is registered with Social Work England
? Has 2+ years post-qualified experience
? Understands the challenges and strengths of care-experienced young people
? Has experience in Court, CIN, and CP work
? Builds strong, trust-based relationships with young people and partner agencies
? Uses a strengths-based, person-centred approach
? Is reflective, proactive, and always striving for better outcomes
? In this role, you will:
- Carry out robust assessments and risk analysis
- Develop and implement person-centred care and pathway plans
- Communicate effectively with young people, families, and multi-agency partners
- Promote independence, dignity, and empowerment
- Contribute to positive and sustainable change for young people leaving care
